Your development
The AECOM Graduate Development Programme lasts for two years, and will provide graduates with full financial and development support towards their relevant professional qualification, including an assigned mentor, regular residential training modules, an opportunity to work on live client projects, external training courses where required, and multi-disciplinary exposure.

Application & Assessment
We have a quick 3-stage process starting with an online registration, followed by an online situational judgement test bespoke to AECOM, and finally an interview/assessment in one of our AECOM offices. You can apply at aecom.com/amazing

Who are we looking for?
At AECOM, we value graduates who have an excellent technical grounding in their particular field, with the ability to assimilate and analyse information effectively and objectively to make informed decisions. Equally as important, we are looking for certain core behaviours that will enable graduates to thrive, such as teamwork, the ability to communicate effectively, the confidence to challenge and ask questions, the ability to prioritise, and creative and innovative thinking.

We are seeking applicants from around 35 disciplines, including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, building services, industrial, fire and sustainable buildings engineering, as well as quantity & building surveying, project management, planning & design, ecology, acoustics, environmental, water and energy related disciplines.

Become your best self with training opportunities to continuously develop your skills and enhance your career.
Our UK&I Graduate Development Programme (GDP) is designed to train the future leaders of our company. We have more than 800 graduates from numerous disciplines developing their technical and soft skills and working towards their professional accreditation. As part of the GDP, you will learn from some of the most talented and renowned experts in their fields, while bringing a fresh approach and further diversifying our workforce.

Professional accreditation is a key component of your development and also important for AECOM’s business success. We provide you with all the support and tools required to achieve accreditation as soon as possible, and in return, we expect you to own your development to drive this forward.

The GDP includes a two-day induction, residential training events, professional accreditation, mentoring, technical development, secondments, CPD, the opportunity to work on live client projects, external training courses, multi-disciplinary exposure and social activities.

Development doesn’t stop post-GDP…
The GDP is just one of a number of programmes at AECOM designed to support you as your career progresses. To help build your technical knowledge and expertise, training in your specialist area will be provided, as part of our strategy to maintain our technical excellence across the business.

To help with continuing professional development and career progression at AECOM, we also run a suite of management development programmes, ranging from first line manager courses to those aimed at supporting our people who lead large teams. Our very top performers may also be chosen to join one of our Talent Programmes. Aimed at emerging talent and those recognised as future leaders, these programmes expose those involved to networking opportunities across the business, a special group project and focused leadership courses.
