Iceland 2025 graduate opportunities

Company Company profile

Think of Iceland and you think of frozen food. And rightly so – it’s been the driving force behind our brand for 45 years. But – now you’ll need to put aside your preconceptions - did you know that we are also the most innovative food retailer in the UK, and the winner of multiple awards for our products, service and the way we treat our people?

Our stunning new £2.5 million development kitchen is the best in the UK and our new Head of Product Development - formerly a Michelin-starred restaurant chef - is spearheading a whole new generation of top quality, innovative Iceland products. We’re also the only place you can buy leading brands including Slimming World, Pizza Express Artisana, Millie’s Cookies and Greggs.

Today we’re rolling out an exciting new generation of larger stores called The Food Warehouse, and building a fast-growing online business that was voted the UK’s best in a 2016 Which? survey.

The unique Iceland family culture is friendly, informal and dynamic – and sees no conflict between professionalism and having fun. That’s why we have twice been voted the UK’s Best Big Company To Work For.

Description:

The culture within the business coupled with the amount of responsibility which is given to you as a Graduate is fantastic, from day one I have been shown the ‘Iceland way’ which is very much get stuck in and have a go. The support network around you is also brilliant, and has helped to breed the creativity within my day to day role and enhance my experience in the job. Lastly the exposure to the directors is amazing – there aren’t many businesses of the scale of Iceland (£3bn) where the MD has a chat with every member of the buying team! I am looking forward to getting my own category to manage; currently I am learning how to buy the Iceland way which involves everything from new product development, commercial analysis and designing the customer offer.

Application procedure

Put simply, your journey will begin with an online application. From here we'll shortlist based on the following criteria:

  • You'll either have, or be on track for, a 1st class or 2:1 Honours degree
    • You'll have minimum of 250 UCAS points
    • Ideally, you'll have also completed an Industrial Placement or relevant work experience under your belt

(In order to get the most out of the schemes, Graduates will ideally have a full UK driving licence. Normal eligibility rules also apply).

The next stage of the process is for you to complete a series of online psychometric tests. Should you pass these tests, we will arrange a telephone interview with a member of our HR team.

If we like what we hear, you'll then be invited to attend a two-day assessment centre in our Head Office, where we'll assess your ability to rise above the rest.

The final stage of our application process is to meet with one of our Directors and take part in some final testing that will assess your fit for the company and the role.

Alright! Are you ready to start your Iceland journey?
