Why choose Kubrick:

1. No Experience Required

At Kubrick, we're committed to hiring individuals with little to no prior skills or experience in data and AI and helping them break into the field. All we need from you is a 2.1 or above degree in any STEM subject and the right to work in the UK.

Please note, we are unable to accept Computer Science degrees due to the technical nature of the course and skills obtained.

Our training is delivered by our in-house team of specialists and designed to introduce you to the key technical and non-technical skills and knowledge that will help you stand out.

Not only will you spend the first four months focusing solely on your development, but you'll be paid a monthly salary to do so, making it a truly accessible opportunity for all.

3. Guaranteed exposure to client projects

Once you've successfully passed your 15 weeks of training, you'll be assigned to one of our leading client organisations where you'll apply your skills and knowledge to projects relevant to your assigned practice area, directly contributing to their success.

Alternatively, you may decide to transition to a permanent role with your client or take a different path entirely. The choice is yours!

5. Access to a diverse and ever-expanding network

People often say the key to success is not what you know, but who you know. During your employment with us, you'll have access to a range of thought leaders across a wide range of industries, plus influential stakeholders who can help drive change and ensure you are visible to the right people. • Innovation over Complacency - We take pride in being market disruptors, not followers. We're curious, always open to new ideas, and never shy away from making mistakes; each mistake leads to a lesson learnt, which takes you one step closer to a better solution.
  • Diversity over Homogeneity - We respect the differences in others and understand the importance of diverse thoughts, experiences, backgrounds and perspectives when formulating new ideas and creating solutions. We believe in creating equal opportunities for all and pushing against barriers that have existed for too long.
  • Adaptability over Inflexibility - The technology landscape is always changing and so are the needs of our clients. We are agile in our working, ways of thinking, and approach to the future of data and technology.
  • Collaboration over Isolation - We believe that working together rather than in isolation and acting with humility over arrogance. Every person at Kubrick can create something great, but together we can build something incredible.
  • Evidence over Bias - We know better evidence leads to better insight. We champion data and technology-driven decision-making and always examine processes with a critical eye to uncover and eliminate the biases which prevent businesses and people from unleashing their potential.

Description:

Before joining Kubrick, I completed a degree and placement year in International Business Management. I had always wanted to pursue a career in data and technology however I hadn’t been given the opportunity to do so prior to Kubrick. Any graduate roles or further education opportunities I encountered had the prerequisite of experience in the field, and that’s something I didn’t have. Being passionate about continuous learning, I had already taught myself some coding skills in both Python and Swift, but it was not enough for employers.

Even as early as high school, data simply wasn’t a career pathway that was advertised or encouraged to young people, in particular females. That’s something that was so endearing about Kubrick to me, they really were diversifying the data industry and encouraging those without experience to get involved. Data was exciting to me because of its magnitude and versatility across all industries and central role in key business decisions.

Working in data and technology means constantly evolving and looking for new unique approaches to business problems. The opportunity to have a career in such a game-changing industry, coupled with the ability to continuously develop, was one of my main reasons for joining Kubrick. The industry is transforming the way we harness the power of data, and I am so excited to be part of the movement.

There are honestly so many reasons why I was attracted to Kubrick. Firstly, they were changing the face of the data industry by encouraging females to enter a data and technology career. Secondly, they were supportive of those who had no prior data experience and wanted a career in data and technology. I don’t think there are many companies that offer this as most companies want only those who already have the experience or knowledge-based background.

Another great thing about working at Kubrick is their access to top clients and the opportunities for rapid career advancement through such relationships. Their start-up culture was also attractive as despite them being one of the fastest growing consultancies within Europe, they still made sure their employees were well looked after. In addition, Kubrick has allowed me to network in a completely new industry and remain up to date with new advancements in technology, which will no doubt aid me both on site and throughout my career.

The training is also greatly attractive as we are taught by incredible industry-leading trainers in topics such as Python and SQL. My technical skills significantly developed and over the four months, I have learnt programmes for coding and data visualisation that will help me solve real world business problems. I am particularly proud of my SQL and Python skills and how they have developed in the short time I have worked at Kubrick. In our final project during training, my scrum team and I were asked to identify whether public financial documents of companies can be used as an indicator of future success and present our findings back to key stakeholders. We utilised both SQL and Python to reach our solution and our presentation not only received the highest score, it will also be used for future cohorts. This was an amazing achievement for myself and my scrum team and has given me to confidence to take on any challenges on site.

If a candidate asked me whether they should apply to join Kubrick, I would 100% tell them to do it. The industry is constantly evolving and literally every company, whether in health or finance, uses data so there really is no end as to where you could work. The skills you learn are highly transferable and you are always able to find new opportunities to advance your career. Furthermore, the culture at Kubrick is amazing and I love having such a diverse team around me.

Joining Kubrick certainly was the best decision I have ever made.

Description:

Before joining Kubrick, I was completing my final year of Imperial College London University where I have studied Biochemistry with Management. This allowed me to gain an understanding of not only scientific concepts in the lab, but their applications in industry to benefit consumers around the world.

I was motivated to pursue a career in data which stems largely from my degree. The combination of science and business concepts I learned at university led me to develop a keen interest in the application of data to solve real-life challenges in business. In addition, my final year Biotechnology project on modelling biological data in MATLAB drove my interest in data even further as I grew to understand the impact of data and analytics on generating actionable insight.

To me, data is like the Force in Star Wars. Only when you know how to wield it can you unlock the most potential. When data is properly captured, cleaned, stored, analysed and visualised it provides the opportunity to direct profitable business decisions, regardless of company size. Data can offer insights into an organisation’s customer base, leading to a better, more tailored offering. In addition, a robust data access framework can also allow colleagues to collaborate on research and share learnings in a structured manner, preventing the siloed working. I find the capacity of data to achieve all these things astonishing.

I discovered Kubrick through a talk held at Imperial College. The talk not only introduced me to the company but also did a fantastic job highlighting their efforts in inclusion and diversity in the workplace, which I valued substantially. The clients Kubrick works with, and the variety of challenging projects available inspired me to join the company. I was eager to be working in a role which used data to make better business decisions to drive success.

The unique training program Kubrick offers is unrivalled. I was able to obtain a solid foundation on a range of coding languages, whilst also being given the opportunity to apply these skills to real-life projects within a learning environment. The 15 weeks of training pushed me to expand my horizons and helped me develop the initiative to venture and learn new coding concepts myself as well.

The culture at Kubrick is a well-knit, where colleagues in the same training cohort support each other throughout trainings sessions and projects. In addition, Kubrick have recently made a significant effort to connect consultants placed at different client sites, helping us stay in touch and ensuring that help is available wherever necessary.

The project I am working on has allowed me to develop further in so many different coding languages. I have had to bring together tools such as Python, R, PowerBI, Docker, Excel VBA and SQL to achieve the goals I have set out for this project and ultimately add value to the client I am working with. Having been given the opportunity to apply all the skills I have learned in training and more to achieve better collaboration and insight sharing between colleagues on client site is extremely rewarding.

I see the field of data is always changing and developing. For that reason, my biggest advice would be to always give yourself time to upskill in different areas. This will help in discovering new concepts that can be applied on the client site, whether on current projects or other ventures which might benefit the business.

Description:

Since I was young, I have been interested in technology, computers, and inventions, but I never pursued these fields as educational or vocational paths. It was whilst working in tech sales, creating relationships and speaking openly with the senior stakeholders who were my customers, that I saw the huge impact technology and data can have on a business. More so than this, I saw that there was still plenty of room for improvement, with a lot of companies lagging well behind. I wanted to move from selling solutions to designing and implementing them myself.

Moving into a career in data was the logical next step for me. I like the massive amount of opportunity to benefit from data that still exists in the business world – it makes working in data both freeing and satisfying day-to-day. It’s also great being at the forefront of a company’s digital innovation because you are designing solutions for now and the future, revolutionising the way a company works. Picking up the skills of tomorrow is the personal upshot of this.

Prior to joining Kubrick, I studied Music at the University of Oxford (University College), followed by two separate jobs, working in technology sales.

I was inspired to join Kubrick because of the quality of the training, guaranteed placement at one of many large companies, a good salary and seniority progression.

Without the four months of training, I probably would never have learned coding from scratch, but now I feel like a confident coder in both Python and SQL. It’s also very helpful being connected with other Kubrick consultants and trainers, both at your placement and beyond, as they are often the best source of tech knowledge if you need help.

I like how devoted Kubrick are to creating an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere for everyone, focusing on ethnic diversity, representation of women, and mental health.

I also love how many opportunities are now available. Recently, I was asked to provide a high-level overview of the project I am currently working on to a team of 30 senior employees via Webex. The feedback I received from my manager post-session was fantastic, and several people on the call contacted him to say they found my presentation insightful and interesting. I was called a “unicorn”, which is a moniker I will continue to strive for.

I believe a career in data is not closed off to anyone because of their university subject, previous work, background, or skills. Data needs young, intelligent, creative people to spur on the latest innovations. And from the individual’s perspective, there is so much opportunity in the field right now that carving out a career in data (with the right training and support to back you up) will surely be fruitful and fulfilling.
