Civil Engineering Graduate:

TfL is the best possible company to start off my civil engineering career. Also, the free Oyster card for myself and my mother is a great cherry on top of the cake!

— Kajana Sivapathasundararajah, Civil Engineering graduate

Engineering & Technology Graduate:

“There is a huge amount of opportunity to shape your graduate scheme towards your interests – I have been able to pursue my passion in decarbonisation across Bus Electrification, Infrastructure Carbon Modelling, Solar PV Cell installations and more”

QS:

“The Quantity Surveying Graduate scheme allowed me to work on a variety of projects, some of which are the highest profile projects in London such as the Northern Line Extension. The diverse nature of the projects ensured I gained wide-ranging experience which aligned with TfL objectives and my own personal goal to become a chartered Quantity Surveyor.” – Toby, former Quantity Surveying Graduate

Commercial Real Estate Graduate:

Starting the Commercial Real Estate Graduate Scheme in the Property Management team has given me a great insight into how valuable the next two years will be. I’ve been able to delve straight into the work, managing my own portfolio of Arches. Every day is different at TfL, ranging from site-visits, meetings, office work and projects. I look forward to gaining experience and skills in all my rotations, whilst working towards my APC. TfL offers many opportunities and support, and I believe is a great place to start your property career as a graduate.

Lora, Commercial Real Estate Graduate

Fire Graduate:

"Throughout my journey in the fire engineering scheme, I've refined my technical proficiency while cultivating crucial soft skills. The opportunity to collaborate with a dedicated and highly skilled team has been instrumental in advancing my professional growth. Furthermore, the program has provided me with valuable insights from other disciplines, including operations, materials, sustainability and diversity and inclusion. This exposure has expanded my outlook on effective problem-solving and innovation. Embracing this comprehensive approach to fire engineering has not only personally enriched me but has also played a significant role in our shared mission of enhancing the safety of TfL's network for all."

Mechanical Graduate Scheme:

"I love that I can tailor my placements to help target my specific interests and development objectives, from track to rolling stock and everything in between. The mix between site and office work really helps my understanding as a visual learner and makes no day the same!

Everyone on the scheme and supporting the scheme are so friendly and encouraging - I know I have made the right decision for myself and my career joining the TfL graduate scheme." - Olivia, Mechanical Engineering Graduate

Geoepgrahic Information Systems:

"Joining the GIS Strategic Analysis Team at TfL has been a pivotal decision in my career journey. While I've had the chance to contribute to multiple projects, my primary focus has been on the Connectivity Project. This project focuses on developing a tool that measures connectivity at local, regional, and strategic levels across different services in London, enabling us to plan for the city's growth effectively. This experience has not only expanded my technical skills but also deepened my interests in spatial analysis and urban planning.

Moreover, the supportive work culture at TfL is truly exceptional. Colleagues here are genuinely helpful and approachable, creating an environment where everyone feels comfortable asking questions and seeking assistance. This atmosphere of collaboration and shared learning has not only broadened my horizons but also instilled in me a deep appreciation for the impactful work we do together as a team."
