What could I be involved in as a Cyber Security Fast Streamer? On this new scheme you’ll help to protect government systems, data and its staff, and help make the UK the safest place to be online. It’s a unique start to an exciting leadership career in Government Cyber Security, improving the security and delivery of vital public services. Working in various areas across the Civil Service, you’ll grow your skills, knowledge and experience through a range of postings and projects. Your work could include advising senior management on cyber strategy and policies, reviewing digital services to mitigate against potential cyber risks, exploring new technologies and processes to keep pace with evolving threats or leading teams responsible for preventing, detecting and responding to cyber incidents.

Training includes: Your training begins with a dynamic introduction to cyber security, with courses designed to give you a basic understanding of key concepts, frameworks and terminology. As you progress through the scheme there’ll be less formal training and more learning on the job, while you study to gain industry-recognised qualifications. Working with Activity Managers who’ll support your development, you’ll have access to mentoring, work shadowing and networking opportunities as well as a variety of online and in-person learning to help you gain core technical and leadership skills.

•  Eligibility to work in the UK.
•  A 2:2 or higher (or be expecting to achieve this), a degree apprenticeship or post-graduate degree in any subject
