The Glencore 2025 Industrial Placement Programme
Designed to accelerate your career in the commodities trading,
technology, engineering, or environmental science spheres, this 12-month
programme gives talented undergraduates exposure to the world-class
people and careers on offer at Glencore.
This is a fast-paced placement in our London office. You will be given
your own areas of responsibility and have the opportunity to contribute
to the work of the business from day one.
By the end of the programme, you will have developed strong skills in
your chosen function. You will also be equipped with the highest level
of professionalism, personal ownership and commercial aptitude – skills
that are essential to future careers at Glencore.
The Sustainability (Low Carbon Fuels) Placement
Glencore’s carbon solutions teams are actively trading carbon, power,
and biofuels/low-carbon fuels as part of our broader Climate Action
Transition plan. This placement within the Sustainability team will give
you day-to-day exposure to the process of certifying and trading low
carbon fuels. Your day-to-day responsibilities could include (among
other related topics):
- Timely management of biofuels mass balance data flow (inputs/outputs) related to sustainability documentation and mass balance (Both ISCC & Italian National Scheme).
- Working closely with counterparties’ sustainability teams, including issuing sustainability certificates (PoS) and checking received sustainability certificates.
- Calculating of Greenhouse gas emissions involved in biofuels production.
- Supporting the management of supply chain sustainability related
information for the biofuels team.
Essential Requirements:
- IT literate; a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
- Strong numerical skills – experience working with large amounts of data ideal.
- Strong research skills – an inherent curiosity and the ability to learn and retain new information quickly.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills

You must be studying a degree with a year in industry, and successful
candidates need to be available to start their placements in July 2025.
