What do Data Analysts do?

In this apprenticeship, you will deliver high-quality analytical outputs in data management, business intelligence, analytics, and data science - this means you will:

  • Use a variety of programming languages, including R, Python and SQL, to clean, process, manage and integrate data from different sources, ensuring quality and analytical outputs to follow best practice guidelines
  • Respond to incoming requests for information in a timely and efficient manner
  • Use a variety of analytical and data science techniques to provide high-quality, timely analysis and intelligence relating to key priorities
  • Support the work-stream with application of in-house developed techniques including AI-text analytics solutions, Auto charting, dashboards and process automation.
  • Support Project Management Team in checking the quality of data outputs.

Essentials

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (including Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent numerical skill
  • Excellent IT skills
  • High level of curiosity in data and analysis
  • Excellent team working skills and the ability to manage conflicting work schedules
  • An analytical mind – enjoys problem solving and understanding new issues
  • Good attention to detail – can demonstrate taking pride in work and ensuring it is of high quality
  • A thorough and organised approach – able to manage a variety of tasks and issues, prioritising appropriately
  • Good communication skills and written English
  • Ability to work independently and to take responsibility
  • Ability to pick up new systems/processes quickly
  • Bachelor’s Degree ideally in a science subject 2:2 and above
  • Minimum of 3 A Levels at grade C - including one in numerical subject e.g. Maths, Economics, Finance.
  • 6 GCSEs at grade 7/B including Maths and English or equivalent qualifications.

Desirable

  • Experience with statistical programming tools including R, Python, SPSS to name a few.
  • Previous experience working with research or survey data.

Key Information

Salary & Benefits:

· Salary £24,000 per annum with regular reviews

· Full time - 35 hours a week (20% off the job training in relation to the apprenticeship)

· 27 paid days off (plus statutory bank holidays): 23 days annual leave, plus Birthday holiday and an additional 3 days over the Christmas period

Possible Start Date: End April 2025

Apprenticeship Level: Level 4 Data Analyst Apprenticeship

Location: A combination of working from home (with the support of the company in terms of hardware, software and other equipment) and attending shared office space in central London twice a week. You will be no more than 1 hour travel time from central London.
