British Airways is looking for a graduate Commercial Analyst to come on board and help navigate their London Gatwick business operations.
One of the world's most prestigious airlines, British Airways, is looking to bring on a graduate Commercial Analyst to help steer their business through the rapidly changing airline industry. The position is based out of Heathrow Airport and involves influencing commercial decisions on the airline's London Gatwick routes.
Analysts play an important role in the success of British Airways. Rajvinder, a graduate analyst at BA, explains what the position entails.
"The job involves evaluating BA's performance data, interacting with many people in order to communicate our findings, helping to drive decisions, and developing strategies to enhance performance from the data analysis that we conduct."
"Our team supports the sales function in BA so we attend their tactical meetings, providing insight and knowledge into trends in the market," she says. "I also attend meetings about analytical projects in my portfolio."
The successful applicant will be responsible for revenue management, including seat pricing and availability, as well as marketing, sales and network planning.
Rajvinder says she enjoys her day-to-day work with British Airways, and has found herself growing into the role.
"My typical day starts with email checks for urgent requests or questions about the performance of my area and recent trends. After responding to those, I might shift my attention to ongoing larger pieces of analysis that may take a day or two to complete," she says.
"The industry itself is so complicated that you can apply the things you've learned to any role. I'm happiest when I'm learning, and since there's still a lot to learn about the different roles and business areas, it's safe to say I'll be happy here for a long while yet."
