In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales and Brackley, England.
Job Description
Main tasks of the job / key result areas:
• Interpretation of design
data to generate tools/Fixtures that reduce NVA and improve capability
of the process in line with Safran ergonomic standard.
• Maintain
traceability from design to manufacture.
• Design / Liaise within
Safran group to standardise methodology.
• Understanding the business
processes and the manufacturing processes within the manufacturing unit
and aerospace regulation requirements for all components.
• Problem
Solving - Working knowledge of A3, 4D and 8D problem solving techniques.

Reporting - Regular and timely reporting of progress via meetings with
line manager.
• Regulatory - All required statutory and regulatory
conditions are being met.
• Lean - Understanding of modern
manufacturing tools and techniques.
• Risk - to proactively manage
project risk, mitigating as necessary.
• Progress - Deliverables are
being completed within the required time scales.
• Cost -
Deliverables are being completed within the baseline cost plan.
•
Quality - Deliverables are being completed to defined expectations,
Right first time!
• SHE - The required Safety, Health, Ergonomic and
Environmental standards are being achieved.
Job Requirements
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will have strong design and manufacturing engineering background with experience of working with component design and manufacture. The candidate will have an engineering accreditation such as an indentured apprenticeship, HNC/HND or degree in a relevant engineering discipline. The role requires someone with experience of working with Enovia Smarteam, Catia V5 and Excel. Experience and knowledge of lean manufacturing practices would be advantageous but not essential.
