Leading insurance company Zurich looks to help graduates on their programmes find the right path.
International insurance company Zurich believes that helping graduates find the most suitable careers will empower them to have a positive impact on the company. Zurich's graduate programmes aim to match applicants with the right roles, and to give them the support they need to succeed.
Priyal Patel, a graduate who recently joined Zurich on their Actuarial Graduate scheme, says the company is fantastic at investing in its graduates and staff.
"As a company, Zurich wants to find the right role for you, which is a role you will enjoy and excel in," she says. "You experience a lot of rotations to different business areas-which means you get to work with talented actuaries from across the industry."
Priyal finds that Zurich also aims to provide graduates with the skills they need to succeed in their chosen positions.
"You get a great study package at Zurich, which includes your study materials, tutorials and study leave," she says. "This is because Zurich really invest in their people."
The encouragement and support offered on the programmes are matched by the opportunities to put the skills into practice. Priyal says the schemes provide a wide range of responsibilities.
"At Zurich, I feel like the opportunities that present themselves are endless. You can have an opportunity from working on a brand new piece of work or project, or even organising a team challenge for the local community."
The global insurance organisation are looking for graduates with basic skills to build on. For the Actuarial Graduate Programme, Priyal says it's good to have a mix of technical and maths skills.
"I would have to say logical thinking as well as numerical skills [are important] when you are working with big problems that you need to break down. I think Excel skills are really handy, and come in use regularly on your day-to-day job."
Zurich has a range of schemes on offer, and graduates who are interested in the opportunity to work collaboratively with the global organisation should see if Zurich have a scheme which may be right for them.
